Long Summit is an app for keeping track of your own money and plans. This page explains what reaches us when you use it, why, who else handles it, and how to have it deleted.

The app is run by Rishabh Tyagi, an individual developer based in India, who is responsible for your data under this policy. Write to [contact@thelongsummit.com](mailto:contact@thelongsummit.com) about anything on this page.

### The short version

- What you enter in the app is saved to your account, so it is safe if you lose your phone and comes back when you sign in again.
- We don’t sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites. The app has no analytics or advertising tools in it.
- AI features are optional. Nothing is sent to the AI company until you tap.
- You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.

### What we keep, and why

- **Your Apple sign-in.** Apple gives us a number that stands for your Apple ID and, if you choose to share it, your email address — which may be one of Apple’s private “Hide My Email” addresses. We don’t ask Apple for your name. This is how we know the account is yours.
- **What you enter in the app.** Your accounts, balances, debts, money in and out, notes, Milestones, Peers and Why cards, forecasts and their chats, subscriptions (including the names of anyone you split one with), your credit cards and their dates, the names and rules you set up in Docs, and your settings, such as your currency, region and, if you enter it, your date of birth. It is kept in your account so it is safe and comes back on another phone.
- **Pictures you add to Why cards**, for the same reason.
- **The email address for reminders**, if you set one up. You confirm it once with a six-digit code we send to it, and we keep it so the reminders can go out. Turning Email off, or signing out, stops them.
- **Which plan you are on.** When you pay, your phone sends us the receipt Apple signed. We check it and keep the result, so the app knows your plan is current. Apple takes the payment — we never see your card.
- **Sign-in records** — when you signed in, what kind of device you used, and when it was last active — to keep your account secure and to let you sign out.
- **How much AI you have used this month** — a count only, never what you asked — for the monthly AI allowance.
- **IP addresses, in our server’s logs**, to keep the service secure and stop abuse. The logs are kept for a short time and then deleted automatically.

### What we don’t keep

- **Your statement files.** PDFs and other files you keep in Docs are stored in your own iCloud Drive, which Apple runs — never on our servers.
- **The reminders that appear on your phone.** They are scheduled on the phone itself, and nothing about them is sent to us. Reminders by email are different: those are sent by our server, so they are listed above.
- **Looking around.** Trying the app with the sample data creates no account and sends us nothing.
- **Usage and crashes.** Nothing in the app measures what you tap or which screens you open. Apple may share anonymous statistics with developers if you have turned on “Share With App Developers” in iPhone Settings; that comes from Apple, and we cannot tie it to you.

### AI features

Some features use AI. Each one tells you what it sends before you use it, and nothing is sent until you tap:

- **Forecast** sends what you type when you build or change a forecast, with the forecast itself. Your Money figures and documents are never sent.
- **Suggest names** (Docs) sends the bank’s descriptions of your transactions, with long numbers taken out, and the names you use. No amounts and no dates.
- **Read with AI** (Docs) sends the pages of a statement, which usually show your name, address and account number.

These go through our server to DeepSeek, a company in China, which sends back the answer. We don’t keep what is sent or what comes back. DeepSeek handles it under its own privacy policy.

### Who else handles your data

A small number of service providers, each only so that the app works:

- **Railway** runs our server and its database.
- **Cloudflare** stores the pictures you add, runs this website, and forwards mail sent to our address.
- **DeepSeek** answers AI requests, only when you tap.
- **Resend** delivers the reminder emails, if you have asked for them.
- **Apple** provides Sign in with Apple, iCloud Drive for your Docs files, and takes the payment for a plan.

Your data may be handled in countries other than your own. Where it is, we rely on the safeguards these providers offer for international transfers.

### How long we keep it

- **While you have an account** — everything above, so it can come back to you.
- **Earlier versions of each thing you change** — 30 days, so a change made by mistake can be put right.
- **Things you delete in the app** leave your phones. On our server they are marked deleted and kept until you delete your account.
- **Your account** — open the Money tab, tap the Settings gear, then Delete account. Your phone is cleared at once, and everything in your account, pictures included, is erased from our servers 7 days later. Signing in again within those 7 days keeps it. Your Docs files stay in your iCloud Drive. Deleting the app alone does not delete your account.

### Your rights

You can see everything we hold in the app, and export it from Docs (CSV, PDF, ZIP) and Subscriptions (CSV). You can correct it by editing it, and delete it — piece by piece, or your whole account — in the app. For a copy of what we hold, or anything else on this page, write to [contact@thelongsummit.com](mailto:contact@thelongsummit.com). We answer within the time the law allows, and asking never changes how we treat you.

Where laws like the GDPR apply, we handle your data because it is needed to provide the app you asked for, and for the AI features also because you chose to use them. You can complain to your local data protection authority. We don’t sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.

### Security

- Everything between the app and our server is encrypted.
- Pictures are private, and open only through short-lived links our server signs.
- Your sign-in is kept in your iPhone’s Keychain. Our server keeps it only in a one-way scrambled form.

### Children

Long Summit is for adults managing their own money. It isn’t directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly keep a child’s data. If you believe a child has an account, write to us and we will remove it.

### Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes. If a change matters, we will also say so in the app before it takes effect.
