What it is
Long Summit is an iPhone app for people who are building wealth and want to see exactly where they stand.
Once a month, you type the real balance of what you have and what you owe. From that it shows your net worth, your cash flow, your debt, and how each asset is growing. Then it shows where all of it is heading.
No bank login. No income or purchase logs. No transactions to enter.
Nothing else in the app moves your net worth. Only the balances and rates you set do.
The whole app
What goes in
A person holds different kinds of money, so each goes in as what it is:
- Cash your accounts, savings included
- Assets a home, a car, stocks, crypto. The value moves up and down
- Fixed grows at a set rate, like a fixed deposit or a bond
- Debts a mortgage, a loan, a credit card balance
- Pots cash you’ve set aside for something, with a goal and a date
See each on its own, and all of it added up.
Your money story
- Where you’ve been. Every month you type is kept. Add earlier months from old statements, and your history starts before the day you installed the app. Event notes on the chart say what happened in a month: a raise, a big purchase, a loan.
- Where you stand. Net worth, cash, debt and cash flow for this month, and what moved since the last. Cash flow is just the change in your cash, so there’s nothing to enter.
- Where you’re heading. A range ahead, carried on from how your numbers really moved. The month each debt is gone. The month you reach each goal. Plans in your own words, worked out month by month. So a goal gets planned on real numbers, not a guess.
Around the numbers
- Ahead the milestones you’re aiming for, the people you measure yourself against, and your reasons, written down
- Forecast describe a plan in your own words. The AI writes it, the app does the maths
- Docs payslips, statements, policies and tax forms, in folders
- Subs what your subscriptions really cost, with reminders before they renew
- Cards the dates and details of each credit card, with a reminder before a date
Why it exists
Most of us know that tracking your money helps. Years of numbers pay off when you have a real decision to make, or a goal to plan around.
The hard part is keeping it up. At the start it’s new, and you do it. Then nothing seems to change. You don’t see a gain the next day, so it slips. The payoff comes later, and it comes from the months you didn’t skip.
Tools that run on every purchase, or on a link to every account, ask for a lot of upkeep. The first missed entry or broken link leaves a gap. After that your net worth is an estimate, only as good as what got logged.
Long Summit asks for the one thing that doesn’t drift: the real balance. Type it from your bank or a statement, and that month’s net worth is what your accounts say, whatever happened in between. One number per account is small enough to keep up for years.
Many people don’t bother early on, because it doesn’t seem to matter yet. But a long record is what pays off, and it only gets long by starting.
What it is not
- Not a bank connection. It never reads your accounts
- Not an expense log. No income, no purchases, no categories. The one cost you add is each subscription, once
- Not a budget
- Not live prices. You type what a holding is worth
- Not always current. It’s as fresh as your last update, and it shows which rows still need one
- Not a coach. No score, and it doesn’t tell you what to do with your money. It shows the picture, you decide
So it’s not for you if you want your accounts synced, a budget, or live prices.
